Damping tape for screed
Using damping tape is essential when pouring any cement- or polymer-based screeds
Standard
Damping tape for screed is a flexible black material designed to compensate for thermal expansion of concrete and self-leveling floors, especially in underfloor heating systems. The tape is installed along the perimeter of the room, between the wall and the screed, creating a gap that prevents deformation and cracking of the surface as temperatures change. Made of expanded polyethylene, it also provides additional sound insulation, reducing vibration and noise transmission from the floor to the walls.
Using damping tape is essential when pouring any cement- or polymer-based screeds. It serves as an expansion joint, allowing the concrete to expand and contract freely without damaging the structure. The thicker the screed layer, the wider and denser the tape should be. During installation, no fastening is required — simply place it along the walls before pouring the mix.
